On the afternoon of May 20, BLCU's overseas students dragon boat team headed by teachers Wang Weiguang and Liu Ying from the Department of Physical Education went to Yuyuantan Park to participate in the 2018 capital university dragon boat championship for overseas students. BLCU sent 13 overseas students to take part in the 400m straight track race. According to the requirements of the competition, the team of overseas students should be made up of male and female members. Each team consists of a helmsman, a drummer, 10 rowers and substitutes.

This is the first time that BLCU has participated in this competition. It is also a temporary team before the competition. Thanks to the teachers of the Faculty of International Education of Chinese Language, they have actively cooperated and assisted in the team building. After only one time of field water exercise, the overseas students’ team came to the competition field. After two rounds of fierce competition in the afternoon, the dragon boat team of BLCU overseas students won the fourth place and won honor for BLCU.
