At the evening of Nov. 23, the Final of the Mandarin Contest for International Students of Beijing Language and Culture University was held in the Shaw Auditorium. 9 international students’ wonderful performance win the applause and laughter from time to time. Cheers from friends, interaction with the audience, comments from professional announcer and guest speakers put the competition to the climax again and again.
In the first part of the self-introduction, the contestants mainly introduced themselves in Chinese with talent display as supplement. Each player is limited to 2 minutes. The players were well-prepared, modest and show their talents on the stage, their fluent and humorous presentation and wonderful talent show won applause. The second part is reading aloud. Players have a deep understanding of the text content of emotion, voice intonation standards, reading smooth, sound and emotional, deeply infected with the audience. The third part is free expression of the topic. The contestants not only demonstrated their level of Mandarin, but also integrated into the understanding of different cultures, the friendly feelings of China, the ideals and thinking of life.
After fierce competition, the No. 9 player Li Wenjun (Indonesia, from the International Chinese Teaching and Research Base) won the first prize.
