BLCU Professor Wan Yexin Won Award

  On September 25, in the nineteenth session of the Chinese teaching and learning conference held in University of Gottingen, Germany, the fifth session of the Friedhelm-Denninghaus-Preis award was held. Professor Wan Yexin, a researcher in BLCU foreign language research center, won the award for her work Chinese Characters - Cognition (German version) and the supporting teacher’s book (published by the Commercial Press). The prize issues every two years to reward the author and the good textbooks published in German and the outstanding achievements and individuals who contributes German language teaching.

  Chinese Characters - Cognition uses short and concise text and a lot of practice and games to let the students understand the general of the system of Chinese characters. The matched teacher’s book not only introduces the writing background and the theoretical basis, but also combines the inspiration and experience of Professor Wan Yexin obtained in each section of the course arrangement and organization at Zurich University, which is beyond compare of the numerous Chinese teaching materials.

  It is reported that the Friedhelm-Denninghaus-Preis is an award introduced and first issued by German Fachverband Chinesisch e.V. in 2006, which has been awarded for 4 years. For the first time the prize was awarded to the Chinese scholars, which fully demonstrates that Professor Wan Yexin’s contribution in Chinese language teaching in Germany has been highly affirmed.
