Representatives Gathered in BLCU to Discuss Chinese International Education Development

　　On October 26^th and 27^th, “2013 University Chinese International Education / Undergraduate Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language Construction Seminar" was held in BLCU. 92 universities 183 representatives domestically gathered in BLCU, having an deep research and discussion on the orientation and development of international Chinese language education under the new situation, construction of curriculum and teaching materials, teacher training and teacher team building and other topics.

　　The president of BLCU, Professor Cui Xiliang, said in his opening speech that with the development of China's comprehensive national strength, Chinese international education development gained opportunities, making this discipline grow into mature. But with the rapid development of Chinese international education, the problems in discipline development were also crucial. He pointed out that currently it should be student -centered, focus on the application of new educational techniques and innovative teaching methods in the era of big data, Internet age and the cloud era, and think deeply how to seize the new situation and new features. He hoped the delegates could offer suggestions on personnel training, curriculum development, teaching materials, teaching discipline construction and team building of teaching Chinese as a foreign language, as well as scientific development of teaching Chinese as a foreign language as the course of the nation. He also said that all colleges and universities should strengthen exchanges and collaboration.
