On December 18, the General Assembly celebrating the 40th anniversary of reform and opening up was held ceremoniously in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. The conference awarded the “China Reform Friendship Medal” to 10 international friends to thank the international community for its support and help in China’s reform and opening up. In Beijing Language and Culture University, which has the name of “mini United Nations”, this conference has attracted the keen attention of international students. On the afternoon of December 20, the Propaganda Department of the Party Committee and the International Student Management Office jointly held a seminar for foreign students in the comprehensive building 1006. The representatives of the foreign students attending the seminar watched the wonderful scene of the conference and discussed the changes and influences China’s reform and opening up has brought to China and the international community. Some foreign students also exchanged their feelings by writing.

Students from Singapore, Russia, Croatia, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Benin, Pakistan, Myanmar and other countries have spoken in succession. Some of them are undergraduates, some are graduate students, some have just come to China for half a year, and some have already lived in China for eight years. They fondly recall their experiences of ties with China and with the Chinese language, share the convenience of China’s reform and opening-up to the outside world and its profound influence on the international community, and express their wishes for China and their wishes for promoting friendly exchanges between China and foreign countries.
