On December 19, the “Chinese ambassador scholarship” award ceremony was held in the multi-function hall of the embassy in Italy.

Hermes Dassi, an award-winning student of our university, is currently studying economics in Università Cattolica Del Sacro Cuore. On behalf of Beijing Language and Culture University, he has participated the preliminaries in the Italian and San Marino Chinese Bridge competition held in Naples in April this year and achieved excellent results. He loves Chinese learning and is eager to understand Chinese culture. He has been studying Chinese for less than two years and his exam results are among the best in his class. In his spare time, he also practiced Chinese Kung Fu with his master and won applause from the audience for a set of boxing techniques played in the competition.

In 2020, China and Italy will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, with bright prospects and unlimited opportunities for bilateral cooperation. It is time for young people in both countries to learn and refine each other’s language. I hope that more Italian students will make good use of the “ golden key” of Chinese learning, explore Chinese civilization, promote exchanges between the two sides, deepen understanding of China, and strive to become practitioners, promoters and caregivers of Sino - Italian friendship, and work with Chinese aspiring young people to create a bright future for Sino - Italian relations.
