On October 27, local time, Confucius Institute at University of South Carolina successfully held the 2018 autumn Chinese teacher training meeting in the humanities teaching building of University of South Carolina Columbia campus. This training was specially conducted by two Lifetime professors Chen Zuyan and Zhang Hong from New York State Binghamton University, with the topics of “Application of Chinese Culture in Chinese Teaching” and “Learning Chinese in Singing” respectively.
Professor Chen Zuyan is a professor of Chinese language and literature at Bingham University, New York, and Dean of the Confucius Institute for Drama Confucius Institute, which is jointly organized by the Bingham University and the Chinese Academy of Drama, including the Tang-song literature, Confucianism and Chinese teaching methods, with profound academic attainments and rich teaching experience.
Professor Zhang Hong is a tenured professor of Chinese and vocal music at Bingham University and a famous American singer. “Singing and learning Chinese” is her first effective method of teaching Chinese, and has published special teaching materials.
