On the afternoon of March 30, the 7th interpretation translation and interpreting competition and the final competition and award presentation ceremony of consecutive interpretation kicked off in the teaching building No.1, room 209.

The theme of the final competition was "Belt and Road: Change through Dialogue". The final competition was divided into two parts: French - Chinese and Chinese - English consecutive interpretation and English - Chinese and Chinese - English consecutive interpretation. In the final competition of the first part, French - Chinese consecutive interpretation, judges from the French group held further discussion on the cultural connotation of the belt and road initiative from breakthrough points such as Journey to the West, the silk road to the conflict and inclusiveness of civilizations. In the final competition of the second part, English - Chinese consecutive interpretation, six finalists were divided into two groups. The first group was focused on the belt and road initiative and future development prospects. The second group talked about language communication, economy and trade, transportation and the belt and road initiative.

Keeping up with the times, the Beijing Language and Culture University international translation and interpretation competition aims to strengthen the cultivation of young people's professional skills, improve their awareness of social services, and deliver a number of high-quality translation talents to the society in line with the challenges of the times.
