On October 27, the first "Yuehua Cup" national dulcimer invitation contest organized by Zhejiang Conservatory Of Music was kicked off.

Zou Jingru and Liu Peizhen, freshmen of the first session of music session of International Music Education and Communication major of The College of Arts, won the gold medal and the silver medal in the professional youth group B2 separately, winning the honors for BLCU. The two students demonstrated the humanistic quality and solid dulcimer performance ability of BLCU art students to the teachers and students from the art schools national wide.

BLCU Musicology (International Education and Communication in Music) started to formally enroll undergraduate students in 2017. Based on the education and smriti of Chinese traditional music culture, and relied on the advantages of internationalization of school management and language pedagogy, BLCU was working to promote majors and Foreign languages integration in order to cultivate high-end compound talents with high humanistic accomplishment, solid Chinese music performance skills and proficient use of foreign languages for the international communication and exchange of Chinese music.
