From November 4 to 7, the 2016 International Symposium on Language Teaching and Research, jointly organized by the Editorial Department of Language Teaching and Research and the Chinese Language and Culture College of Nankai University, was successfully held at Nankai University (Jinnan Campus).

This symposium takes the form of conference report and group report, which reflects the academic pursuit and service concept of Language Teaching and Research, showing three distinct characteristics: first, the topic is direct; second, active thinking; third, precise attitude. The discussion was enthusiasm and cordial. Whether it is the conference report or the group report, whether the invited experts or young scholars, every delegate is carefully prepared and listen carefully, actively interact, and truly reflects the level of academic conferences.

This “2016 International Symposium on Language Teaching and Research” is the first time that Language Teaching and Research has been jointly organized with the Chinese teaching units of colleges and universities. It is an important practice for the editorial department to implement the strategy of “going out”. Journals, writers, readers, and Chinese teaching and research institutions are the fate community. The collaboration of the Quartet is an important support for the development of Chinese teaching and research.
