On November 12th, 103 African and Chinese youth from 37 African countries and 30 Chinese colleges and universities gathered in the headquarters of the Confucius Institute to witness the opening ceremony of the first Chinese Bridge - the Sino African Friendship Knowledge Contest.

　　The Deputy General Director of Confucius Institute Headquarters / Deputy Director of Hanban Xia Jianhui said in his speech: this “Chinese Bridge” contest takes the “Sino African Friendship Knowledge Contest” as the theme, reflecting the deep friendship with Africa, hoping the competitors contribute their efforts for the summit through this contest, “set friendship before competition” and spent a wonderful time in China. Deputy Secretary Wang Luxin of Beijing Language and Culture University said in his speech that BLCU will make full preparations for the event, build the bridge and platform for the young people to communicate, to think and to practice, BLCU wish to inject new vitality into the development of Sino African relations with all Chinese and African youth who have dreams, responsibility and nerves.

　　This contest takes “Sino African love - the Youth Ambition” as the theme and is divided into four aspects: network preliminaries, tournament, semi-finals and finals. In addition, all the players will also take part in a series of Chinese culture experience activities to enhance friendship and promote cultural mutual understanding in experiencing Chinese social culture activities.
