The Colloquia to Commemorate the 120^th Anniversary of Chinese Alphabet Campaign was Held

　　On October 26^th, “The Colloquia to Commemorate the 120^th Anniversary of Chinese Alphabet Campaign” was held. More than 40 domestic language expert, strategic research experts, cultural scholars attended the meeting to study the relationship of the modernization of language and the country, and to explore the language problems appeared in the new era of social development.

　　Party secretary of Beijing Language and Culture University, chief expert of China Language Policy and Standards Institute, Professor Li Yuming gave a speech, he believed that many relationships in the contemporary language application fields need to adjust, such as the relation between national common language and minority language, the national common language and dialects, national common language and foreign languages and so on; with the deepening social informatization, there were some new problems and contradictions in our daily language life, such as the protection of endangered dialects, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese, letter words, the language specification problems of network, and even there were some group events directly caused by language contradictions in society.
