On the afternoon of February 27, Cohen Lamberts, President of Sheffield University in England, led a delegation to visit Beijing Language and Culture University.

Secretary Ni Haidong extended a warm welcome to President Cohen Lamberts and his party and thanked the President for attaching great importance to the relationship between the two schools. Secretary Ni stressed that the Confucius Institute of Sheffield University is a "global model Confucius Institute" and has won the title of "Advanced Confucius Institute" three times. These achievements are inseparable from the support of Sheffield University.  Secretary Ni said that he is willing to work with President Cohen Lamberts to further deepen the friendship between the two schools and promote the two schools to carry out more practical cooperation projects relying on the Confucius Institute platform.

President Liu Li and President Cohen Lamberts had further discussions on the possibility of cooperation between the two schools in Sino-foreign cooperation in running schools, joint training of talents and joint academic research. President Liu said that BLCU has great advantages in language research and teaching, has the leading Chinese teaching resources in China, is willing to support Sheffield University in promoting Chinese teaching, and hopes to gradually carry out Sino-foreign cooperation in running schools, jointly set up research institutions, expand other professional cooperation projects with Sheffield University, etc.
