On the afternoon of April 1, the 2019 Annual Council of the Confucius Institute at Hokuriku University was successfully held by videoconference.

In his speech, President Liu Li expressed his heartfelt thanks to Chairman Xiaocangqin, Chinese and foreign directors of the Confucius Institute, president and teachers for their hard work and dedication, and reviewed the work done by Confucius Institute in 2018. In the past year, the Confucius Institute has opened various classes and lectures in Chinese. The characteristic project of “Pingcheng Dispatches Envoys to China” has been successfully carried out. Four groups and six classes have been sent to China to study, including table tennis, basketball group, university faculty and leadership group, and college students’ cultural exchange group, with a total number of 170. President Liu Li said that various activities carried out by the Confucius Institute have effectively promoted exchanges and friendship between the two universities. He hoped that the two universities would further deepen inter-university cooperation by using their respective advantageous resources and carry out more practical cooperation projects in the fields of student exchange and cooperation in running universities.

Chairman Xiaocangqin expressed his gratitude to President Liu Li for his strong support and expressed his willingness to further enhance the friendly cooperation between the two schools, maintain close communication and exchange with Beijing Language and Culture University, and explore cooperation in the fields of student exchange, teaching and scientific research.  Zhou Hang, the director of Confucius Institute, reported on the personnel adjustment plan of the board and the priorities for 2019.
