On the morning of May 8, President Liu Li met with Mabvuto Sakala, Permanent Secretary of Zambia’s Ministry of Higher Education, Luke Mumba, President of the University of Zambia, Geoffrey Banda, Minister Counsellor of Zambia’s Embassy in China and other nine people.  The two sides had cordial and friendly talks and had in-depth and fruitful discussions on the potential cooperation in the field of education between the two countries and the future cooperation with the University of Zambia on Chinese international education.

President Liu first expressed warm welcome to the visiting party. President Liu said African countries are friendly countries to China, African people are friendly friends to China, and so is China’s relationship with Zambia. Therefore, when it comes to training friendly talents between China and Africa, BLCU will spare no effort to promote cooperation and exchanges with the University of Zambia and even between the two countries. The University of Zambia is a university with strong comprehensive strength. It was founded at the same time as BLCU to a higher education institution born at the same time. One of the tasks in the early days of the founding of BLCU was to train African talents who could understand Chinese. For a long time, many outstanding African students among the foreign students trained in BLCU have become messengers to promote Chinese and Chinese culture to Africa.
