On March 26, Sino-Egypt University Presidents Forum and China higher education exhibition was held at the Cairo University, Egypt. Vice Premier Liu Yandong attended the closing ceremony of the forum and cut the ribbon for the Chinese higher education exhibition. BLCU Party secretary Li Yuming attended the forum and delivered a speech.
In the principal forum, Secretary Li Yuming pointed out in his speech, Beijing Language and Culture University is the first Chinese university to carry out higher education cooperation with Egypt. For 50 years, BLCU has trained more than 3000 Egyptian students who are proficient in Chinese language and familiar with China culture. And we have established cooperative relations with many Egypt universities.
Secretary Li Yuming also exchanged opinions with Chinese Language and Literature Department directors from 11 universities such as Cairo University on further strengthening Sino-Egypt higher education cooperation and reached broad consensus.
On March 27, Secretary Li Yuming accompanied Xia Jianhui, Deputy Director of Hanban and Hanban inspection team to Ismailia to visit Suez Canal University, met with President Mamou Duras. The two sides affirmed the cooperation achievements and exchanged opinions on further promotion of the cooperation and construction of Sino-Egypt academy.
