In December 26th, the academic seminar of “The Construction of Confucianism and Core Values” was held in Beijing Language and Culture University.

    Deputy Secretary Wang Luxin expressed a warm welcome to the experts and scholars present at the general assembly on behalf of the Beijing Language and Culture University and wished the success of the meeting. He said in the speech that Confucian culture is the mainstream and an important part of Chinese traditional culture, the influence of Confucianism on Chinese society and Chinese people is unmatched by any kind of theory, and Confucianism is an important foundation of the core values.

    The experts also launched a heated discussion on the role that Confucianism should play in the reconstruction of modern values, how to apply the most essential part of Confucianism for the nowadays use and other issues. More and more young scholars actively join the discussion, contributed to the construction of the core values and Confucianism. A total of more than 30 papers were received in this conference, involving many aspects of the study of Confucianism, provide a useful exploration in the construction of socialist core values.
