On 9th May, the twelfth world cultural festival themed in “Break the Time Bonds, Waltz the World in BLCU” was held grandly in the playground of BLCU. Nearly one thousand international students from more than 82 countries and nations in the world attended the event, which is the largest scale in the number of the international students’ participation.
At 9 a.m., the parade composed of the student representatives of each country opened the curtain of the festival. The parade started from the east gate of the university and marched all the way to the playground. The international students were dressed in their national costumes and became a beautiful landscape in the sycamore street. After arriving the playground, the song “Welcome to Beijing” enthusiastically interpreted by the five international students lit up the atmosphere. 82 countries and nations participated in this garden party and broke the record in its scale. In the afternoon, the garden party closed the curtain in the joy and happiness of the international friends. They used their kindness and jubilance to prove the theme of “Break the Time Bonds, Waltz the World in BLCU” and made us feel the international atmosphere and inclusiveness of the “small United Nations”.
