In the morning of 4th April, BLCU delegation led by President Cui Xiliang visited Georgia State University. The Vice President of Georgia State University professor Liu Jun and others met with the BLCU delegation in the meeting room of the School of Confucius. They reviewed the history, looked into the future and exchanged opinions about setting up Chinese teachers training centre in the southeast of America.
After the talks, President Cui Xiliang offered two inscriptions for the School of Confucius of Georgia State University, expressing the good wishes for the future cooperation between the two universities. At that night, the President of Georgia State University Dr.Mark Becker and Cui Xiliang signed the academic cooperation memorandum on behalf of their own university and exchanged gifts.
Georgia State University is located in the downtown of Atlanta in the United States and an important university in the southeastern part of the United States. The two universities working together to establish the teacher training center of Confucius Institute marks a new chapter in the complementary and cooperation of the Sino-America Chinese teacher training in the local areas, which will further strengthens the cooperation between two universities and promotes the future development of the Confucius Institute. The training center will give full play to the resources advantages of Beijing Language and Culture University and Georgia State University, combing the local teaching needs with teacher qualification certificate training, establishing the dynamic database of the North American Chinese teachers, carrying out the localization of training materials and the construction of the teaching demonstration class, promoting the sustainable development the Confucius Institute and Chinese teaching in the United States and creating a platform for the cultivation of the excellent Chinese teachers in the local areas.
