The First Chinese-Arabic Language and Culture Forum was Held in BLCU
On April 27, 2014, the two-day First Chinese- Arabic Language and Culture Forum was successfully ended. This forum was organized by Hanban, Confucius Institute Headquarters, Department of International Cooperation and Exchange of Ministry of Education, and jointly undertaken by Arab Research Centre of our school and Confucius Institute of Suez Canal University. Taking “National Language Policy and Chinese and Arabic International Education” as its theme, this forum was to implement the 20+20 cooperation project between China and Africa of Ministry of Education and improve the research level of Chinese, Arabia international education and national language policies of both sides.
During the forum, teacher representatives from more than 40 universities of China had a fierce discussion on the situation of Arabia teaching. Considering the blowout development of Arabic in universities in recent years, Arabic Research Center of our school united with Peking University, Beijing Foreign Studies University, Shanghai International Studies University, Foreign Trade University, Beijing International Studies University, Ningxia University and other famous universities in China set up “China Young Scholars Forum on Arab and Middle East Problems”, which is aimed to arouse the research enthusiasm of young and middle-aged teachers and resolve problems existed in think-tank team construction of universities.
