BLCU Delegation Visited the United States and Mexico

  From May 1 to 9, 2014, party secretary professor Li Yuming together with our school delegation visited the United States and Mexico. The delegation had participated in 15 official activities, and had met 73 stakeholders of the United States and Mexico.

  Secretary Li Yuming visited the Confucius Institute at Virginia George Mason University , and met with Prime Minister of the Confucius Institute and general director Dr.Joy Hughes of George Mason University, the persons concerned. He also went to West Springfild elementary school and observed the teaching course of the project of “treasure box of Chinese culture” jointly developed by our school and George Mason University Confucius Institute. Given the importance of the National Autonomous University of Mexico in Mexico and Latin America as well as Spanish-speaking countries, our school has always attached great importance to the cooperation and the building of Confucius Institute with the school. Secretary Li Yuming and the principal Dr. Robles has had extensive and in-depth exchanges, and the two sides has reached a consensus on the development of the Confucius Institute and the exchanges and cooperation between the two schools, and exchange views on helping their school setting up disciplines of translation between Chinese and Spanish of master’s degree and Chinese of bachelor’s degree. Secretary Li Yuming also visited distinguished alumni of our school, Liliana, professor of Oriental and African Studies Center of Mexico School and expert on Chinese affairs. Liliana has served as a senior translator at the summit between Mexico and China.
