The Alliance Française of Beijing held a seminar concerning French language education in China at Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU) on Friday.
Many professional language teachers and scholars attended the event, including Fu Rong, the former director of the French language department at Beijing Foreign Studies University; Valérie Morvan, director of the French alliance; and Chen Wei, dean of the Sino-French engineering school École centrale de Pékin (ECPK) at Beihang University.
The seminar aimed to explore systematic systems for teaching French and ways to get more universities in the Chinese mainland involved in French education.
According to a statement from the Alliance Française of Beijing, the organization is focused on improving French education by researching the advantages and difficulties that most Chinese students have when learning French.
In this way, it hopes to establish new trends in French education in China.
The Alliance Française of Beijing is a non-profit school founded by BLCU and Alliance Française in 1998.
Over the past 20 years, the alliance has made great contributions to cultural exchanges between China and France.
