On the afternoon of November 9th, the final of Beijing Language and Culture University’s 9th “Hello, Mr. Voice” Pronunciation Contest kicked off in the main building 209. Nineteen finalists from various Chinese and foreign student faculties including Chinese, English, French, Japanese and Korean languages competed on the stage of “Mr. Voice”.

Six senior teachers and foreign experts of Chinese, English, French, Japanese, and Korean were invited to serve as judges in the contest.

The final was divided into three links, namely, “Rhyme of Literature” (reading manuscript), “Voice of Movie” (film dubbing) and “Language of Articles” (introduction of special articles).

After the contest, Chinese group judge Feng Weigang commented on the match. As an old friend of the pronunciation and intonation contest, teacher Feng Weigang briefly combed through the many competitions he had participated in, believing that the pronunciation and intonation contest is an excellent platform for displaying the elegant demeanour of each language. Teacher Feng commented on the contestants’ pronunciation and expression in this competition, encouraging students to enhance their expressive force and show a more lively side in the performance.

The contest lasted nearly a month from the initial preparation to the successful conclusion of the final, which has set up a platform and bridge for students to learn the language and has also enabled students to appreciate the great charm of the six languages.
