On the morning of June 27, at Run Run Shaw Gymnasium, Chinese and foreign undergraduates dressed in Cap and Gown to attend the 2018 summer graduation ceremony of Beijing Language and Culture University together with their relatives, friends and teachers.

President Liu Li delivered a speech entitled “determined to become a talent, cultivate the feelings of nation and country”. He warmly congratulated all the 2018 graduates and expressed his heartfelt thanks to their parents, teachers, and relatives who had devoted their efforts to the growth of the graduates. He wrote that graduates should always take “to aspire, to act, be virtuous” as a compulsory course in their life, and among the three, “to aspire” is the prerequisite. To aspire means taking responsibility bravely. Only in this way can aspiration be solid and ambitious. To aspire means a profound understanding of the world. Only in this way can aspiration be correct and effective. To aspire means knowing yourself clearly. Only in this way can aspiration be scientific and practical.

At the graduation ceremony, the BLCU leaders presented certificates of honor and medals to the 2018 BLCU outstanding Chinese and foreign graduates. At the degree awarding ceremony, the professors’ representatives turn the tassel for the graduates. Many students set sail with the feelings of home and nation. They will write a wonderful chapter for the development of China and the world in the future, and the honor also belongs to the BLCUers.
