At 10 a.m.,Islamabad time, October 2, the Confucius Institute in Islamabad welcomed the Confucius Institute Open Day as scheduled. A large-scale cultural event was held by Confucius Institute in Islamabad to celebrate the Chinese National Holiday and the present development of Confucius Institute and the Confucius Institute Open Day officially kicked off. Many guests from the Chinese Embassy, China-Pakistan media, Confucius Institute cooperative colleges and the National Modern Language University of Pakistan gathered for the opening ceremony.

Major General Najam, President of Pakistan’s National Language University, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony, extending holiday greetings to all guests, teachers and students, and briefly describing the hardships of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and the hardships of its revolutionary predecessors. He also spoke highly of Confucius Institute’s contribution to China-Pakistan cultural construction, cultural exchanges and friendship between the two countries. He also hoped that such cultural activities can deepen the cultural understanding between China and Pakistan and promote the development of friendship between the two countries.

During the open day, teachers of Confucius Institute opened nine cultural exhibition areas on the spot, including the exhibition area of Confucius Institute’s signature books, Chinese dress area, ink painting and calligraphy area, Chinese martial arts area, Chinese art area (such as Beijing Opera mask, paper-cutting Chinese knot, etc.), Chinese Jishi medical area, Chinese scenery area, Chinese tea art area, Chinese food area, and Chinese National Day record area. The purpose is to show the various traditional cultures of Chinese people’s daily life so that students can participate in the experience and blend in to have a deeper understanding of Chinese culture and society.
