On May 5, Professor Li Xiangyu, President of Macao Polytechnic Institute, Professor Chen Qingyun of Institute of Social Economy and Public Policy, Dr Han Lili of the Institute of language and Translation, and Dr Li Yanlian, Minister of Academic Affairs visited Beijing Language and Culture University.

President Liu Li welcomed the delegation of Macao Polytechnic Institute on behalf of BLCU, appreciated President Li's positive contribution to the development of higher education in Macao, and thanked Macao Polytechnic Institute for its strong support of BLCU in the cooperation project between the two universities. He also agreed with the spirit of Macao Polytechnic Institute to improve itself and pursue excellence. He hoped that the two universities continue to consolidate the existing exchange programs between students and teachers, and carry out all-round cooperation in the fields of Institutional reform, the accreditation of international standards, and development of Chinese textbooks in Portuguese - speaking countries.

After the meeting, the delegation of Macao Polytechnic Institute visited BLCU's Advanced Innovation Center for Language Resources and held talks with the center Director Professor Li Yuming and Executive Deputy Director Professor Yang Erhong. The two sides held further discussions on the joint laboratory of machine translation between China and Portugal, the research and translation of Chinese and Portuguese languages, and the exchange and cooperation of talents.
