On the morning of April 20, Chinese and foreign teachers and students gathered in the football playground to usher in the grand opening of the 38th Beijing Language and Culture athletic meeting. Secretary Ni Haidong said in his speech that BLCU has always attached great importance to sports work, BLCU has spared efforts to cultivate all the teachers and students to strengthen the of physical fitness, to carry out the integration of Chinese and foreign students’ physical education, to improve the level of physical education, and to actively develop the cause of sports and it has achieved excellent results.

The opening ceremony kicked off by the entrance of the national flag team, athletic meeting team and BLCU flag team. In addition to track and field events, there were many interesting events such as bowling. These events let teachers and students who devote themselves to intensive study and work at ordinary times, deeply realized the joy by sports.

At the meeting, BLCU teachers and students showed their enterprising spirit. All staff in BLCU will solidly push forward the cause of “establish a first-class language university” with more enthusiasm in a more pragmatic manner.
