BLCU Student Won the First Prize in the Final of 21st Century National English Speech Contest

On April 15, after intense competition, the 23rd China daily “21st century coca-cola cup” national English speech contest ended in Hangzhou international Expo center. Liu Wenjin, English major student, grade 2016, from School of English Studies, Faculty of Foreign Studies, Beijing Language and Culture University won the first prize among the university group in the finals.

After three years of practice and exploration, the speech and debate team of School of English Studies has won many awards in major English speech competitions in China. The group training of speech and debate team is the key practice of stratified teaching of School of English Studies to achieve the goal of cultivating high-level language talents specialized in foreign languages. Under the strong support of the School of Foreign Studies and Faculty of Foreign Studies, the speech and debate team, select talents, tap the potential, focus on training, and has preliminarily explored a set of effective high-level foreign language talents training mode based on undergraduate course teaching.

The speech and debate team has cultivated a group of alumni who have won glory for their alma mater. The School of Foreign Studies of Faculty of Foreign Studies will strive to cultivate more first-class foreign language talents with accommodation, independent opinions, international vision and national feelings.
