On March 10, 2018, local time, the first teaching seminar of the Mexican Confucius institute was held smoothly in Mexico city.

    Dr. Sun Wenfang, Associate Professor of Beijing Language and Culture University and Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute at WMU, was also invited to attend and give guidance to the meeting. She introduced the setting of Chinese language syllabus in some schools in the United States and their related experience, and encouraged frontline teachers to contribute to the development of common standards for Chinese language teaching in Mexico.

   Due to the different teaching situations of the Confucius Institutes, there was a consensus at the seminar that more systematic comparative analysis would be carried out to promote the formation of future work exchange mechanism. At the same time, we also hope to strengthen communication to establish Chinese teaching standards in Mexican, in order to train more excellent local teachers, to make research into and develop local textbooks suitable for Mexico, to get involved into the local university credit system, to achieve the benign development of Confucius Institute and other long-term goals, and to open up a new chapter for the development of Mexican Chinese teaching.
