From December 3 to December 4, the "Belt and Road" high-end forum on the diplomacy of big power with Chinese characteristics was held at Beijing Language and Culture University.

The forum was organized by the national and regional research secretariat and the National and Regional Research Institute of Beijing Language and Culture University. Taking the theme of "promoting the implementation of "The Belt and Road Initiative" and promoting the all-dimensional development of diplomacy with the great powers with Chinese characteristics in a new era, the forum was divided into "New Theoretical Founding of Diplomacy for Major Power with Chinese Characteristics in the New Era", "Empirical Study on the Diplomacy of Major Power with Chinese Characteristics", "Opportunities and Challenges in Building Soft Power of the Belt and Road, "The Mission and Responsibility of China's National and Regional Academic Journals" forum. At the opening ceremony of the forum, Professor Luo Lin, Executive Director of the Institute for National and Regional Studies, and Cai Jihui, Deputy Chief Editor of the Social Science Literature Press, launched the publication project of Xi Jinping's Research Series on Diplomatic Thought in New Era.

In January this year, Beijing Language and Culture University established a national and regional institute to explore the "BLCU model" of the development of new university think tanks in order to enhance the overall national and regional research work and to lead the research direction of the national and regional research development.
