At the invitation of Mr. Shen Yixi, President of Keimyung University, BLCU President Liu Li led a delegation to visit the Qiming University of Korea from November 29 to December 2.

President Liu Li extended his warm congratulation on behalf of BLCU to the successful convening of the Symposium and extended sincere greetings to all the teachers and students of the Confucius Institute at Keimyung University. In his report, President Liu Li elaborated on the history of the friendly exchanges between China and South Korea. The deep cooperation and friendship between China and South Korea woul promote the prosperity and stability in Northeast Asia and would also make an important contribution to world peace and development. President Liu Li pointed out: So far, BLCU had trained nearly 200,000 foreign students who know Chinese and are familiar with Chinese culture in 183 countries and regions in the world. Among these, there are more than 50,000 Korean students. Currently there are still more than 1,300 Korean students studying in our university every year. Since 1994, BLCU and Keimyung University had started to cooperate in student exchange, faculty exchange and academic cooperation. For the past 23 years, brothers and sisters-in-arms friendship had been established between the two universities.

At the invitation of the Education Department of Daegu City in South Korea, the delegation also went to Department of Education of Daegu City for discussion and communication. After hearing the introduction the Department of Education of Daegu City, President Liu Li said that BLCU attaches great importance to educational cooperation with Daegu in South Korea. Keimyung University is a close partner of BLCU in South Korea and BLCU is willing to conduct further cooperation to basic education in Daegu through the link of Keimyung University.
