On the afternoon of November 17, Xinhua 2018 recruiting and preaching meeting was held in Run Run Shaw Auditorium. Liu Wei, Deputy Secretary of BLCU Party Committee, met with the five persons career talk team including Qian Tong, Deputy Director of the Xinhua News Agency Editor-in-Chief Office of Integration and Development Center of BLCU 1991 English major graduates alumni, Bao Feifei, Associate Senior Editor of News Photography Department of Xinhua News Agency, a Spanish major 2003 graduate alumni, Wang Yong, Senior Reporter of the Beijing Branch of the Xinhua News Agency, Zhou Wenshu, Deputy Director of the Personnel Department of the Xinhua News Agency Personnel Affairs Bureau, and Lan Xi, the Personnel Department of the branch office at Jixian Hall.

The career talk first broadcasted the Xinhua News Agency's propaganda film and reviewed the glorious course of 86 years since Xinhua News Agency was founded. Deputy Director Zhou Wenshuai explained this year's recruitment posts and recruitment procedures: Xinhua News Agency Chief Executive was expected to recruit 125 people in 2018, and local branches were expected to recruit 68 people.
