On the evening of June 19, with “Reading Classic, Meditate Wisdom” as its theme-the fifth session of BLCU reading season activities closing ceremony was held in the Run Run Shaw lecture hall.
The fifth series activities of the BLCU reading season kicked off in April. This session of the reading season grand launched theme reading activities of “Reading Classic, Meditate Wisdom” , to express their feelings of reading, to share touching moments, to enlighten thinking by this traditional way of reading. There are 8 reading topics, which include Chinese classics, Red classic, Patriotism and hometown feeling, affection, love, friendship and inspirational. Chinese and foreign teachers and students not only read Chinese classics in Chinese, but also read in many languages to share the beneficial or moving foreign works. During the event, a total of 52 readers went to the radio station to read, the organizers also received 32 recordings, the BLCU party Organization Department hosted the BLCU WeChat public account, and it pushed 28 excellent reading works, forming a "classics renewed by constant reading, scholar overflowing campus "cultural atmosphere.
The closing party announced the 2017 “Top Ten Reading Stars”. Ni Haidong secretary awarded the “Top Ten reading Stars” honor certificates. In order to encourage young students who love reading, the BLCU Library had held the “Top Ten reading Stars” for three consecutive years based on the annual borrowing record.
The BLCU Reading Series activities were hosted by the Party Propaganda Department, and were undertaken by Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Post-students Education, the library, the publishing house, the retired working places, the school unions, and the other schools for 5 successive years, guided by the "perfect" guidelines for excellent Chinese traditional culture and education and the development of practical and operational Suggestions on outstanding traditional Chinese culture, aimed to create a "scholarly campus", so that the campus could become a quiet place both for teachers’ teaching and students’ study, and a place that lighting the bright of wisdom.
