On the morning of March 14th, the 8th Council of the Confucius Institute at Japan Kansai Foreign Language University held a video conference.

The meeting deliberated and approved the 2016 Annual Work Report, the 2016 Annual Financial Final Report and the 2017 Annual Work Plan and Budget for the Confucius Institute.

Li Yuming, secretary of the party secretary of our university, highly praised the innovative practice of the Confucius Institute in the Chinese language teaching and culture promotion. We hope Confucius Institute to continue into the primary and secondary schools, to strengthen the Chinese language education for young people, to accumulate positive energy in order to promote Sino-Japanese friendship. We hope Confucius Institute concern about social needs, contribute their resources to the community. In particular, secretary Li mentioned that the establishment of the Cooperative University League of Beijing Language and Culture University, which was initiated by the two schools, will further promote the sharing of resources and mutually beneficial cooperation among the cooperative universities. The league will also hold an academic conference in Romania in November it will invite the member colleges and Universities, including Japan Kansai University.

The chairman of Japan Kansai Foreign Language University GuBenrongzi fully endorsed the relevant proposals of secretary Li, highly affirmed the positive significance of establishment of the Confucius Institute University League, and proposed Confucius Institute should make the special activities into fine products, go into the society and primary and secondary schools, and let more young people understand Chinese, learn about China, cultivate the envoys of friendship between China and Japan, and build a bridge between China and Japan.
