On December 27, the 2016 opening ceremony of the local Chinese language teacher training course of the Confucius Institute at Keimyung University in South Korea was held in the conference room of Yifu Building, Beijing Language and Culture University.
This training course for local teachers lasts for four-week, on the basis of summing up the previous experience, aims to improve the effectiveness and pertinence of training, adhere to the “case study, practice-oriented, learning, simulation” concepts, take lectures, interactive dialogues, small class simulation test, the Chinese talent experience and other courses, will also visit the relevant domestic institutions and observe the survey to promote the extensive exchanges between teachers and students.
After 12 years of development, the Confucius Institute has become a “bridging person” and a window for understanding China and deepening friendship and cooperation between China and other countries. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and South Korea in 1992, the Chinese language teaching in Korea has entered a period of rapid development, and the number of people learning Chinese is increasing day by day. At present, South Korea presents the tendency of Chinese language education to be younger and more than 120 middle schools in South Korea have set up Chinese courses. Therefore, the Korean government has a higher requirement on the professional ability of local Chinese teachers. This training will further enhance the theoretical and practical ability of local Chinese teachers in Korea and promote the development of Chinese international education.
