On September 22, invited by the Liaoning Normal University, Party Secretary Li Yuming attended Language Science and Technology Application and Language Discipline Construction High Level Forum and made the keynote speech “Linguistics is a Discipline Group”.

Secretary Li put forward the concept of “three division of linguistics” in the speech, namely language science, language technology and language arts. The language science is to discuss the “truth” of language, which can enrich the human thoughts; language technology is to discuss the “goodness” of language, which can improve the quality of language life; language arts is to discuss the “beauty” of language, which can affect social life with beauty.

During the forum, Secretary Li also visited the Dalian Foreign Language University, made an academic report for teachers and students and had a cordial discussion with the President Liu Hong. The two sides exchanged views and reached consensus around the issues of discipline construction, personnel training, scientific research, education internationalization, Sino Russian Cultural Alliance, foreign language colleges development and other aspects. The two sides agreed to further strengthen communication, deepen cooperation and jointly make a positive contribution to the development of education in our country.
