New Zealand Massey University Delegation Visited BLCU

In the afternoon of September 19, Secretary Li Yuming met with a delegation from Massey University, New Zealand.

Secretary Li expressed a warm welcome to the delegation and introduced the situation of our university to the delegation. Secretary Li said that in addition to the cooperation in language research, the Business School and Speech Therapy Laboratory in our university may explore the possibility of cooperation with the Business School and the Department of Psychology of Massey University. The teachers and student communication and exchange between the two universities can also expand cooperation.

Massey University President Steve Maharey said they have signed a memorandum of cooperation and will jointly build a “Joint Research Center for Applied Linguistics”. Massey University would give full support to the cooperation projects, and also to lay the foundation for further cooperation between the two sides.

After the talks, the two sides signed the “Joint Research Center for Applied Linguistics” agreement. Wang Jianqin, Deputy Secretary of Teaching Chinese as a Second Language Research Center and Ma Tieshi, Deputy Director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office also attended the meeting.
