On September 24, hosted by the “World Chinese Teaching” editorial department, the fourth “World Chinese Teaching” Youth Scholar Forum was successfully held in Beijing Language and Culture University. Party Secretary Li Yu-ming addressed the opening ceremony of the forum. He stressed that “the academic growth of the young generation will depend on the young people themselves. A generation has a generation’s academic mission, a generation has a generation’s academic responsibility, a generation has a generation’s academic tension.”
The theme of this forum is “Interdisciplinary Research on Teaching Chinese as a Second Language (TCSL)”. After 10 months of public solicitation, nine papers were selected and evaluated in four research areas: Chinese Studies, Second Language Acquisition Studies, Chinese Vocabulary Teaching, and Interlanguage Discourse Studies.
Professor Zhang Bo, editor-in-chief of World Chinese Teaching, summarized the forum and concluded his speech. He believed that this forum had a wide range of research fields, and was characterized by strong innovation and positive research. In the future, the journal will continue to hold the Forum of Young Scholars, with the support and assistance of experts, scholars and friends, and strive to make the forum a cradle of the new generation of academic leaders in Chinese linguistics and second language teaching.
