On November 23 - 24, local time, with the strong support of Confucius Institute Headquarters/National Hanban Office, the “2018 National Public School Teacher Training in England and Wales” organized jointly by the Confucius Institute ( IOE ) of the University of London and the Confucius Institute of Sheffield University was successfully held in Sheffield University. Nearly 50 public Chinese teachers from 13 Confucius Institutes and Confucius Classrooms in north-central England, such as Confucius Institute at Manchester University and Confucius Institute at Nottingham University, participated in the training.

A total of 10 experienced first-line teachers and experts from the UK were invited to participate in the training. Combined with their own teaching practice and theory, they brought several colorful lectures to the participating teachers with the focus on English Chinese classroom teaching ( especially Chinese teaching in primary and secondary schools ). The contents include Chinese teaching design, classroom management, localization of teaching, cultural adaptation and integration, classroom activities and Chinese learning strategies. The training system is rich and diversified, which not only meets the actual needs of English Chinese teaching, but also conforms to the characteristics of English native Chinese teaching and cultural promotion, and is welcomed and praised by participating teachers.
