On the afternoon of May 11th , The Communist Youth League and China's overseas students will jointly host the "Continental Charm, BLCU Style" World Cultural Festival Garden Party on the park grounds of BLCU. BLCU's University Vice Chancellor Dong Lijun, Executive Chairman of the Student Union in Beijing Guo Lingwen, and the Malaysian Embassy officials all attended the activity.
The garden party show was comprised of a center stage show and a scenery area. After the ceremony, a unique ethnic cultural performance was exhibited on the center stage area. Dances, songs, instrumentals, and other types of performances were showcased by international students, encompassing different national interpretations to show different styles. Russian dances, Korean national dances, and Cameroonian dances were not only lively but graceful and smooth, gaining wild enthusiasm from the audience. Periodically, songs delivered in different languages using different ethnic instruments were performed on stage. These performances immersed the audience in a truly original international feel. Students perform with the elegance of Chinese costumes which demonstrated the unique charm of Chinese culture.
This garden party cultural exhibition was a BLCU premier. It combined landscapes that brought in American-style, European-style, African, Oceania, Asian-style and Chinese custom areas. They were divided into six major sections that were styled like pavilions. Students in various countries decorated elaborate booths that encompassed the different characteristics of their national culture. Displayed in the booths were landscape pictures, features arts and crafts, as well as delicious foods that attracted many people. The food sites not had Indian curry, US hot dogs, and Italian snacks such as pizza, but also had free tastings for all to enjoy. In addition, there were hand-paintings costumes to try on, traditional games to play and many other cultural experiences for people to participate in. All of these experiences brought in the charm of international culture for students of all nations to enjoy and archive in photos. This Continental Charm, BLCU-style helped all to feel the unique joys of the multicultural landscape of our campus.
