On the afternoon of May 9th, BLCU held it's Egyptian Cultural Festival. “Egypt's Cultural Festival” was organized by the collaboration of many diplomatic divisions, including: The Arab Egyptian Embassy, The People's Republic of China's Cultural Office of the Embassy, BLCU, BLCU's Arab Research Center and BLCU's Arabic Society> Representatives from Egypt's Embassy, University Institute, The Arab Centre for Studies of foreign languages as well as Arabic professional instructors and students participated in this fruitful activity. The event showed the unique cultures of the two countries, promoted cultural exchanges between the two sides, and furthermore, deepened students understanding of Arabic and Egyptian.
Splendid performances for teachers and students were led by five artists from Egypt's cultural delegation. These artists exhibited paintings, folk arts and crafts. Arab-language majors in BLCU put on engaging performances. The overall program, rich in cultural content, showcased Egyptian culture using a plethora of performances which mainly included Egypt's tannuer dance, a poetry recitation, cultural songs, martial arts performances, and Oriental dances. Egypt's delegation brought in wonderful Egyptian tannuer dancing whose remarkable cultural characteristics won a warm round of applause of the audience. Simultaneous performance activities further triggered the interest of the audience, whipping up a climatic final scene. CCTV Arabic radio channels and international journalists had full participation in reporting and interviewing about the performance.
