On October 13 and 14, at the threshold of BLCU’s 50th anniversary, BLCU, Chinese Modern Literature Museum and China Contemporary Literature Research Academy co-sponsored a two-day seminar whose topic is “People’s Livelihood and Justice: Seminar of Liang Xiaosheng’s Creative Works”. Scholars, from Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, China Contemporary Literature Research Academy, Peking University, Renmin University of China, Beijing Normal University, Beijing Language and Culture University and so on, attended the seminar.
On October 13, this seminar was opened at BLCU Yifu Lecture Hall. Li Mingyu, Secretary of the CPC Conference began his address with his own shocking feeling when reading Tonight Is a Blizzard (one of Liang’s works). He remarked that Liang’s works were part of the remolding of Chinese literature’s spirit, which to some extent was the remolding of Chinese contemporary spirit. Secretary Li also described him as a “civilian representative” both in his creative works and in real life for Liang was a NPC member as well as a teacher.
