On March 21, Vice President of our university Dong Lijun met with Uruguay’s ambassador Fernando Luegeris and cultural officials of the embassy. The Embassy of Uruguay sent our university Spanish original books.
Vice President Dong Lijun welcomed ambassador Luegeris and the cultural officials. He said that students from all over the world formed BLCU multi-cultural atmosphere. He hoped that ambassador Luegeris’ visit to our university will strengthen the cooperation between BLCU and Uruguay universities, promoting cultural exchanges between the two countries.
Ambassador Luegeris said that the Uruguay nation has enthusiasm in Chinese learning and has already begun preparations for the establishment of two Confucius Institutes. The embassy will also strive to promote cultural exchanges between the two sides.
President of the Western Language Institute said, BLCU has a partnership with many universities in Spanish speaking countries. There is still much room for development for future exchanges and cooperation between our university and Uruguay universities.
