Organized by the World Chinese Language Teaching Society and the headquarters of the Confucius Institute, the twelfth International Symposium on Chinese language teaching was held in Shanghai, East China Normal University. The theme of this session is “International Chinese Language Teaching Theory and Practice -- A Case Study of Classroom Teaching”.

　　Professor Zhang Wangxi represented BLCU to give a report themed on “The Optimization and Innovation of the Training Mechanism of the Chinese International Education in Beijing Language and Culture University”. Professor Wan Yexin, Professor Jiang Liping, Professor Zhang Li and totally nearly 20 professors were invited to participate in the symposium, and carried a lively exchange and discussion with representatives from all over the world.

　　The general assembly of the World Chinese Language Teaching Society was held at the same period. BLCU teacher member representatives attended the Council’s election conference. After democratic elections, Professor Cui Xiliang was elected as vice president and executive director, Professor Zhao Jinming was elected as executive director, Professor Zhang Wangxi was elected as director. Our university press was elected as the governing unit.
