On the morning of September 15, seven international student volunteers and five Chinese student volunteers assembled at the south gate of Beijing Language and Culture University and entered Huaqing Jiayuan for the first time this semester. This Mid-Autumn Festival thematic activity of Haidian District on Volunteer Day was invited by Huaqing Jiayuan to enjoy the Mid-Autumn Festival with friends from home and abroad.
The process of kneading dough and stuffing and making moon cakes seems to be not as simple as the international student volunteers think, while the Chinese student volunteers are assisting in explaining that the volunteers have successfully made moon cakes of different shapes with tacit cooperation and also feel the pleasure of making moon cakes themselves.
The purpose of this activity is to spread Chinese traditional Mid-Autumn Festival culture and intangible cultural heritage through the DIY cooperation of Chinese and foreign volunteers. A Chinese student volunteer said: “I think this is a meaningful activity. Foreign student volunteers really feel the charm of Chinese traditional culture.”
