March 5 marked the first day of class of BLCU new semester. School Party Secretary Ni Haidong and President Liu Li conducted in-depth checking work on the new semester teaching situation in classes, in order to guide the operation of the teaching work in the new semester.

    In the morning, Secretary Ni Haidong first came to teaching building No.1 to observe the attendance of students. He also came to the School of Chinese Studies and College of Advanced Chinese Training to have a detailed knowledge of the new semester teaching work arrangement, foreign students backing to BLCU, course selection and the teaching materials. He encouraged College of Advanced Chinese Training to open HSK examination elective courses to other universities in order to attract more foreign students to participate in this course, to share resources, and to service society.

In the afternoon, President Liu Li walked into the Department of Faculty of Humanities and Social Science, to inquire the Department head, teachers' representatives and Academic Affairs Office staff about the related work of the new semester. Then, he came to the Faculty of Foreign Studies, to inquire the staff about students’ courses and their changing of courses and other matters. President Liu Li also walked into the professors' office, and had cordial conversation with Professor Guan about his teaching and scientific research work plan for the new semester.  

    At the beginning of the new semester, BLCU did a good work in carrying out orderly teaching work. This week, BLCU leaders and the heads of functional departments would also supervise the teaching situation of each unit through lectures, visits and other forms, in order to have a good start for BLCU to enhance the central position of teaching work and to improve the quality of talents cultivation.
