September 19 morning, more than 870 2017 Chinese and foreign new postgraduate students participated in BLCU opening ceremony of 2017 Chinese and foreign new postgraduate students at Beiyu Litang.

In his speech, President Liu Li expressed his sincere welcome to the 2017 Chinese and foreign graduate students from all corners Ｂ　around the globe and made earnest expectations. President Liu wished all the new students could adapt to the BLCU family as soon as possible. He hoped the students could enjoy the quiet and comfortable campus life, at the same time, could make full use of the BLCU's various resources, make reasonable arrangements of their learning progress, and could spend a happy and full postgraduate time.

Professor Liu Heping from the Faculty of Foreign Studies spoke on behalf of the teachers. As a senior BLCU teacher who had perused her study and then taught in BLCU, she recited the hard-working youth, and with her own personal experience and the vivid examples of several postgraduates, she encouraged the new students to arrange their plans well, to cherish the good youth time of perusing study; And also to remind students to concern about the surroundings and to put emphasis to social practice, thus accelerating one’s strength by exercising one’s comprehensive ability of discovering problems, thinking about problems, and solving problems.

After the ceremony, BLCU retired Professor Chang Jingyu made the first lecture entitled "Ramble on Chinese aesthetics" for 2017 Chinese and foreign new postgraduates. Professor Chang Jingyu participated in the program recording of the “First Class Begins” jointed posted by the Ministry of Education and CCTV this year, which told the persistent pursuit of spreading Chinese language and Chinese culture of the people taking the course of MTCSOL, which had caused widespread repercussions in the community. All the new postgraduates students seriously listened to Professor Chang's cultural lecture and learned a lot.
