On December 11th, Beijing Language and Culture University Confucius Institute Union held opening ceremony in Kunming, Yunnan Province. More than 50 representatives from 17 domestic and abroad universities and colleges attended the inauguration ceremony, our university president Cui Xiliang attended the ceremony. The ceremony was presided by Zhang Baojun, assistant principal of Beijing Language and Culture University and director of the Confucius Institute.

President Cui Xiliang delivered a welcoming speech on behalf of our university. He pointed out that the rapid development of Confucius Institutes around the world provides a very favorable condition for win-win cooperation between Chinese and foreign universities. Beijing Language and Culture University hopes to set up a cooperative university alliance to provide information and resource sharing platform for 17 Confucius Institutes colleges and universities in 12 countries and regions.

    At present, 17 Confucius Institutes have forged the closest relationship with our university. On this basis, after nearly six months of planning, discussion and repeated comments, Beijing Language and Culture University Confucius Institute Union was formally established. Our university will fully rely on the platform for our university’s strategy of opening up to the outside world and provide greater support for running.
