In the morning of Nov. 19, the first session of the program “One Belt, One Road - Re-read China” was launched at the Shaw Auditorium of Beijing Language and Culture University. In his speech, President Cui Xiliang said that the smooth development of this program was in line with the development needs of the “one belt, one road” strategy. It was of great significance to promote folk cultural exchanges. Beijing Language and Culture University has been committed to promoting Chinese and foreign language and cultural exchanges, in the future we will continue to enhance mutual trust and cooperation with all parties.
Li Peisong, Secretary-General of the Overseas Chinese Alumni Association, said that the project would not only enhance the links and exchanges between alumni and alma mater, but also serve the alumni in the community and give full play to alumni collective forces, contribute to the development of the alma mater, the dissemination of Chinese culture, the prosperity of academic, cultural heritage, the promotion of economic and social development between countries.
The first “One Belt, One Road - Re-read China” program was jointly organized by the Alumni Association of Overseas Chinese Universities and Beijing Language and Culture University. The program aims to attract and invite the elites who have been studying and working in China and are willing to make contributions to the cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries, China’s cultural diplomacy, Asia’s regional stability and peace and even the world’s peace.
