At the evening of November 8, Chinese and foreign student calligraphy association - Beijing Language and Culture University Humanities book club was formally established.
Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Professor Hua Xuecheng said that the original intention of the establishment of the club is to serve the students. He elaborated the concept of “humanities”, “literati”, “writing” and the requirements for the word – “ancient, elegant, quiet, positive”, and said the Department will fully support the development of humanities book club, hoping the humanities book club members can improve their humanistic qualities, and maintain a calm and indifferent attitude.
As the first Chinese and foreign student calligraphy association, the establishment of the book club is also attracting the attention of foreign students. It aims to promote Chinese traditional calligraphy art, promote Chinese calligraphy culture to play an advantage in Chinese international education, cultivate more creative students and study Chinese and foreign students, encourage students to love Chinese characters, love calligraphy and love Chinese traditional culture and art.
